It's a really peppy song, called "Happy Go Lucky! Dokidoki! Precure!" sung by Kurosawa Tomoyo. (In case you're wondering, she plays Otome in
Aikatsu, who looks startlingly like one of the Dokidoki! Precure girls.)
Also, it's pretty hard to miss that there's eventually going to be four of them. :) The designs look cute, and it looks like the staff put a lot of time and effort. Everything's very clean and even the backgrounds have a fair bit of detail. It's the first episode, after all.
After the opening, we're at Clover Tower (probably an homage to
Tokyo Sky Tree), a 999-meter tall tower that's the tallest in the world. Among the visitors to this tower are students from Oogai No. 1 Middle School. Then we find the title of the episode is, "The Earth is in Big Trouble! The Last Remaining Precure!" Hmmm...
The main character is Aida Mana (相田マナ), who is the student council president, and who appears to be the perfect girl already. Students and teachers both depend on her for just about everything.

Aida Mana, everyone's hero |
And her best friend Hishikawa Rikka (菱川六花), gets annoyed when Mana takes on all the problems that people throw at her. I guess she's good at everything, but not good at delegating. :)

Rikka and Mana |
Also at the Tower: Makopi! AKA Kenzaki Makoto (剣崎真琴), an idol that Mana really adores.
|
Makopi endorses Esti! |
But Makopi drops something in the crowd, and Mana picks it up. It looks strangely familiar. And as Mana fights through the crowd to give it back to Makopi, the action slows down as if it's Very Important. :)

Very Important Scene! |
On her way back, Mana bumps into a little cart selling accessories. Coincidentally, there's an accessory there that looks very much like Makopi's dropped item. And when Mana picks that up, it reacts to her, and her to it. The stall owner gives it to her as a gift.
|
His name is Joe Okada. That doesn't sound suspicious at all. |
The girls get in line to go to the top of the tower's observation deck. Another girl, who seems to know Mana, also gets in line (although the management of the tower says she doesn't have to get in line... she owns the tower!). Her name is Yotsuba Alice (四葉ありす). And since she has already shown up in the opening animation, we already know she is Very Important too. :)

Alice arrives at her Clover Tower |
Then it's time for the Bad Guys. One of the men in line starts griping that he should have just cut in line, so he would save some time. This starts opening a dark hole in his stylized heart. Then the Bad Guy (Eela) totally blackens the heart and creates a Jikochuu (ジコチュー, which roughly means self-centered).

You think you got heart troubles? |
That's it for the first half. Took longer than I thought to write all this down, will finish the second half later. :)
